A lazy man is not defined here as a couch potato who simply does nothing, but more a man or woman who likes to do things smarter, faster, easier or with less effort. In my case, most of my primary lazy man stuff is due to back issues and even though I LOVE to do very active sports (hunting, water foiling, camping, etc) I cannot do them the old fashioned way by "putting my back into" because my lower 3 spine joints just won't allow it - walking most days is a tough job :) So, I have begun the adventure of making all of our lives easier by finding and creating products to help me do the things I love - I am proud to be a LAZY MAN!!
We at Lazy Man are proud to present our first official Lazy Man product! The Single Person Electric Easy Deployable (SPEED) Deer / Bear / Elk / Bird Watching / Moose / Hog / Coyote / Prison Guard Stand. 1, 2 and 4 person versions as well as safety rail or full box versions (Two person with full box shown).
This project had the following criteria, single person use (nothing like trying to get all your buddies to travel to the thick of your favorite swamp before or during season for a day of mosquitoes, frozen toes and/or sweat). No back use (mine don't work so well with 3 slipped disks so I don't expect you to use yours either). Start to finish erection time had to be less than 45 minute (35 is about how long it takes), Truck or ATV towable (need to fly down the highway and get between the trees in the woods). And fully functional with all the amenities of home at 14 feet of height (the legal limit of height for most deer stands in most states and yes, we will make it available in other heights).
I don't have time to give more than just a taste of what all the hoopla is about as I JUST today (21 Nov 2008) got home from my annual Minnesota deer hunt (YES, I did get a nice 4 year old 8 point buck by taking my stand and self into an area we just were not able to hunt in the past) and in the morning me and my new tool are hitting the Oklahoma deer season (it pulled like a champ behind my truck the whole 1008 miles from MN to OKC).
